Nude Abstract Women

The Shape of Us

Saturday 29th November 2025
Black Fig Art Gallery, Alstonville
3:00 – 6:00 p.m.
Limited to 15 places
Hosted by Black Fig Gallery + The Art Social

This is more than just a workshop; it’s an afternoon of art, connection, and conversation. Together, we’ll reflect on the stories our bodies hold, their changes, their strength, their softness and how creativity can honour the truths of being in our own skin.

Guided by artist and psychology student Laura, with co-host gallerist Kalie, this intimate gathering weaves together watercolour, wine, and dialogue. We’ll explore the beauty of nude abstract women in paint, embracing flowing forms and expressive lines, while also sharing in a supportive chat about body positivity and belonging. No painting experience is required. This is about expression, not perfection.

All gallery profits from this event will go directly towards the Fig Fund, supporting low-income individuals and pensioners to purchase authentic art while uplifting local artists and keeping creativity alive in our community.

  • A glass of champagne or wine

  • A beautiful afternoon tea with cheese and canapés

  • Our signature Elderflower & Rose iced tea

  • A mini watercolour lesson – covering techniques, colour theory, and abstract expression

  • A discussion around the psychology behind body image, self-acceptance, and creative expression.
  • All materials provided – watercolour paper, brushes, paints, and apron

“Laura's watercolour and wine event was such an inspiring and hilarious evening. She provided a beautiful drink and cheese platter, and simple step by step instructions for painting the most lovely piece of art. I felt really inspired after leaving and have since started my watercolour journey. Can't wait for the next one!”
