Watercolour and Storybook Workshops for Kids
Starts Tuesday, 10th Feb at Tintenbar Hall
Led by a qualified English teacher and passionate artist, these workshops blend art, storytelling, and imagination into one joyful creative experience.
Each week, children will:
-
Learn a fun literary device or English skill (like imagery, repetition, or personification)
-
Explore a new watercolour technique and art skill
-
Use both together to build their own handcrafted picture book
Over time, children will write, illustrate, and hand-make a beautiful, one-of-a-kind picture book — completely personalised, handwritten, and illustrated by them. Every session adds a new page, a new idea, and a new skill.
These sessions are designed to feel:
* Creative
* Playful
* Relaxed
* Confidence-building
There are brain breaks, guided discussion, gentle instruction, and plenty of encouragement, perfect for children who love stories, art, or both.
Who it’s for:
This workshop is best suited to children ages 7 to 12/kids who can already write basic sentences independently, so they can fully enjoy the creative writing side.
By weaving English and art together, children naturally build:
-
Stronger writing and storytelling skills
-
An understanding of literary devices used throughout primary school and high school
-
Confidence in expressing ideas through both words and images
And the best part?
They’re learning all of this while having fun, getting a little bit messy (but not too messy!), sipping an elderflower iced drink, and creating something they’ll be incredibly proud to take home.

Watercolour and Wine Event
Dates for 2026 coming soon
“Laura's watercolour and wine event was such an inspiring and hilarious evening. She provided a beautiful drink and cheese platter, and simple step by step instructions for painting the most lovely piece of art. I felt really inspired after leaving and have since started my watercolour journey. Can't wait for the next one!”
